HANDRAFTED: COURTNEY ZIMMERMAN

I feel like life is so busy that I struggle to feel the growth and change happening around me. This year looks completely different from last year in so many beautiful ways. One thing I’m super excited about is having the platform to feature the work of people who inspire me.

I approached Courtney last October, to talk about making some mugs for my holiday shop. Once, I got to her studio, probably, mmm 3 weeks before my show, I realized how absurd by request was. She does these amazing online shop updates, and was having one soon, and this one was one of her most ambitious. (I had the privelege of shopping at one of her updates and by the skin of my teeth ended up with 2 beautiful bowls. Everything else had sold out within, I’m not kidding you, 10 minutes, tops.) Gratefully, we started talking about what would be possible, and met in early January to start talking ideas!!

We determined that succulent & house plant pots could be a really great fit for spring!! Then we got down to ideas!! I found some of her glaze combinations to be SO beautiful and inspriring so I chose those. Then I saw the work she created in another shop update and got super excited!! Thankfully, she agreed to create a mix of both!!

Courtney was kind enough to show me her amazing process & photo her process. I was super excited to bring my girls to pick out exactly which pot would receive which beautiful glaze!! I am soooo excited to feature her beautiful succulent & house plant pots for my Spring Open House & our Garden Center Season!!
