HANDCRAFTED: HOW TO LAYER NECKLACES

I can remember being in interior design school at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona. There was this lady that looked like she stepped out of Ralph Lauren. She had this beautiful leather coat and jewelry effortlessly layered. She looked just stunning. I can remember the feeling of wanting to have her look so clearly… even though… it was 21 years ago!!

When I was 30ish. I would sell my jewelry at weekly Saturday Markets at the Wheaton French Market. There was this woman… she had a chambray shirt, simply cuffed, and a stack of bracelets that looked like they told a story. I love the idea of gathering pieces over time that are beautiful and meaningful and keep adding more and more interest to your look . These two memories are the inspiration for the layered necklaces I created for this year’s spring show.

I am totally loving this look!! It’s created from 4 separate chains that I assure you will mix & match with SO many of your Pommier-Benoit Necklaces… And I’m certain your PB earrings will complement!

  1. To create this look, I started with an open brass chain that fits close to the neck. You can absolutely wear this necklace alone! It also layers SO well!!

2. This is a statement chain. I love wearing this alone, or layering it. I consider this to be like a strand of pearls. Classic & will not go out of style.

3. This necklace hangs below the statement chain. I am totally loving this necklace alone & layered.

4. This is another great standalone look. However overlapping this turquoise pendant with the brass pendant adds so much interest in a layered look!

To wrap it up:

1. Start with a short piece minimal piece.

2. Next medium chunky piece to add interest & texture. In this look I kept all necklaces with brass.

3. Add a longer necklace that complements.

4. Add more interest by adding a necklace that’s similar in length to necklace 3 but has a different detail such as shape or color.

I hope this gives you the confidence to try something new!!!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
